Jessica A. Mitsch
Jessica Mitsch began her career at Red Hat in Raleigh. She held several roles on the company’s People Team serving in positions on the Talent Acquisition team and the Global Mobility team. These roles were formative in shaping her understanding of how tech talent training and economic development initiatives intersect.
Having found her niche in the tech world, Jessica joined The Iron Yard in 2014 as the founding campus director for The Iron Yard’s Durham campus. Building the Durham campus from the ground up, she oversaw the growth of the campus and graduated more than 80 adult students from three cohorts and six courses at The Iron Yard, also assisting these program graduates in securing tech jobs in the Raleigh-Durham market.
Jessica’s success in launching and growing The Iron Yard’s Durham campus led to her promotion one year later to The Iron Yard’s Director of Global Campus Operations. In this role, Jessica was instrumental in growing The Iron Yard’s national footprint and oversaw the opening of eight new campus locations. Her responsibilities included managing the code school’s 21 campus locations and leading the campus operations team.
Now, as the executive director of the code school, Jessica focuses on building national partnerships, increasing diversity and inclusion efforts, and supporting The Iron Yard's growing alumni network.
Jessica is a graduate of the College of Charleston and is based in Raleigh, North Carolina.
