GitHub has made native iOS and Android clients for its code-hosting platform available as a free download from the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Called GitHub for mobile, the app allows users to perform tasks such as sharing feedback on a design discussion or reviewing a few lines of code. Users can review and merge pull requests, manage their issues and tasks, respond to comments, and receive notifications.

Previously, GitHub provided a mobile-optimized website but functionality was limited, lacking native device capabilities such as support for swipe gestures and scaling for different resolutions.
