This year's WWDC didn't have much new hardware, but it provides clues to Apple's next direction

Apple's annual WWDC (World Wide Developer Conference) provides a smorgasbord of announcements as the company uses the opportunity to show off new technologies and give hints as to where it will be focusing its attention in the future. This year's WWDC was light on hardware, but it had interesting news from other areas, as IDG TV shows below.

The single biggest announcement, Apple Music, was not exactly enterprise IT fodder, but it indicates an interesting new path for the company. On the mobile front, though, Apple showed off a smarter and more location-aware Siri -- the better to keep pace with Google Now and Microsoft's Cortana -- and new features for the Apple Watch.
