Just a little fun today, nothing serious.
I was out with a friend of mine the other day and we were just messing around and it hit me: What if food were licensed like software?
You'd get up to the checker at the store and they would ask you questions like:
- How many people are going to eat this bag of beans?
- Are you going to cook it in one pot or split it up into several pots?
- Do you plan on licensing onions or beef with it, because that's an extra CAL to put those together.
- I need the names of everyone in your family because this basmati rice only comes with a named-use license.
So with this in mind, you can see how it would do to you if you threw a party and someone brought an extra guest. Then again, you would also need food license police to monitor the situation. And if one of your neighbors got upset with you about something, he could call the food police and they would come out and audit you to make sure that nobody in the house was eating food they weren't licensed for.
