Agile is becoming popular as a software development process methodology; multiple variants are in use such as Scrum and Extreme Programming.

"Essentially, agile is a methodology and a process for software development that focuses on eliminating unnecessary steps in the process, [incorporating] shorter iterations, continuous integration refactoring code," said Cliff Utsein, vice president of marketing and business development at AccuRev.

Agile produces higher-quality software at a faster time to market, AccuRev said.

AgileCycle is platform-neutral; developers can use programming platforms such as Java or .Net, as well as IDEs, including Visual Studio and Eclipse.

The list price for AgileCycle is $2,695 per person for a perpetual license, including the first year of maintenance and support. The product is available this week.
