HTML5 will figure prominently at this week's Google I/O technical conference for developers.

A status update on HTML5 itself will be offered at one session during the San Francisco conference. Another session will cover how to leverage HTML5 in Google Web Toolkit while another covers developing with HTML5 APIs and Chrome, Chrome OS applications, and Chrome extensions.
[ InfoWorld's Galen Gruman says that Adobe has destroyed its credibility in its dispute with Apple, which is promoting HTML5 for its handheld devices and banning Adobe's Flash. ]
Google declined to comment on who the keynote speakers would be. Key Google-driven technologies to be covered at the conference include the Android mobile platform, Chrome browser, the Google App Engine cloud service, and Google APIs.
