“Companies are experiencing significant change as multiple factors challenge them in new ways, from the consumerization of IT trend to the ever-faster, complex, more global environment in which they operate. Much of the lifeblood of organizations today revolves around their digital processes and information, which is why technology leadership is more important than ever. With several technology trends coalescing into a fundamental consumerization that changes not only the technology mix but also user expectations as to their role in technology, the landscape in which technology leadership has changed. It's no longer the province of senior IT leaders, though the cut-above thinkers among them remain in the best position to lead. InfoWorld's eight 2013 Technology Leadership Awards winners show that essential combination of creativity, vision, management, and political savvy that are necessary to stand out from their peers in helping their businesses grow, in rearchitecting their IT strategies, in deploying critical emerging technologies, and in innovating technologies themselves. We salute these leaders, and hope they inspire many others as well.”

Description of InfoWorld Technology Leadership Awards

Chief technology officers are often the unsung heroes of IT. They may drive new technology development for customer-facing and/or internal use. They may manage and improve the core technology that underpins the business operations. In any case, they translate the promise of technology into business benefit. Each year, the InfoWorld Technology Leadership Awards honor senior IT executives who have demonstrated leadership within their companies and in the IT community.

Inclusion in the InfoWorld Technology Leadership Award winners' list does not imply endorsement of an organization’s products or services.
