Storage software rollouts
IBM Tivoli, Fujitsu Softek, CommVault update software

On Monday Fujitsu Softek and CommVault Systems released updates to their respective storage-anagement software products. And next week at its developer conference -- DeveloperWorks Live -- IBM will announce enhancements to its family of
Fujitsu Softek today introduced Vrsion 2.1 or its storage resource management software, Softek Storage Manager, and Softek Storage Provisioner, a product that automatically assigns and allocates disk storage space to applications as required through a set of user-defined and created configurations and policies.
CommVault too updated its storage software with Version 4.2 of its QiNetix software suite. The suite permits backup and recovery, as well as data migration and archiving. According to Chris Van Wagoner, director of product marketing at CommVault, the new version integrates several of CommVault's existing products into two categories of software: data movement and data management. The new features of the suite include expanded support for operating systems, including Unix, Linux, Oracle, Netware, and Microsoft Windows Server 2003. Additionally, the new version includes CommVault's Galaxy backup and recovery software.
