Iomega adds new backup drives

New products designed for SMBs, remote offices

Article Body:

Iomega on Tuesday announced three new storage products: the NAS 200d Server, the NAS 300r Server, and the Rev 35GB Internal Drive with SATA interface.

The NAS 200d Server provides 320GB of network storage with integrated backup to the company's Rev removable-drive system. The company has also introduced a SATA version of its Rev system, the Rev 35GB SATA drive, allowing the drive to be installed internally. Rev provides 35GB of storage on removable hard disks. The NAS 300r Server is available in three rack-mount models in capacities ranging from 320GB to 500GB and designed for small to midsize businesses, corporate workgroups, and remote offices. It includes Gigabit Ethernet and hot-swappable drives.

"These products offer fast, reliable backup options for small and medium businesses and remote offices," said Chris Romoser, Iomega's director of public relations. "They continue our strategy of offering the same easy-to-use features for businesses that we've offered to consumers for years," he said.

All three products ship with IAB Pro (Iomega Automatic Backup Pro) software, which offers the choice of continuous real-time backup or scheduled backup.

Iomega's new lineup of NAS 200d Series products will begin shipping in April and starting at $1,399. The Rev 35GB Internal Drive with SATA interface is available now, starting at $380. The NAS 300r Series storage servers will begin shipping in April, starting at $1,999.
