VMware spruces up virtual machine
Software allows multiple OSes on same box
Recommend ThisVMware on Monday plans to announce general availability of GSX Server 2.5, the latest release of the company's virtual machine software for running multiple operating systems concurrently on the same piece of hardware.
Used for functions such as server consolidation, Version 2.5 supports Windows operating systems and Linux, and adds support for Novell NetWare, Versions 4, 5, and 6 as guest operating systems in the new release.

"You can dramatically increase the utilization of your servers by consolidating," he said.
Version 2.5 also features enhanced performance and manageability, support for as much as 64GB of host memory, and support for Intel servers with as many as 32 processors. As many as 64 powered-on virtual machines can be deployed on a single host system.
GSX Server 2.5 is available Monday, with pricing starting at $3,025 for a two-processor system.
Unisys on Monday plans to announce the availability of VMware GSX Server for the Unisys Enterprise Server ES7000 product line.
Under an agreement between Unisys and VMware, Unisys will provide support for both VMware GSX Server and for Microsoft Windows operating systems running in VMware virtual machines.
