IBM this week is announcing certification exams to assist DBAs (database administrators) in updating skills on DB2 Universal Database Version 8.
The exams are designed to help DBAs become certified faster and at lower costs, according to IBM. New exams include the DB2 Version 8 upgrade exam, to enable DBAs to quickly update their DB2 certification requirements with a simplified, 30-question test, and the Advanced Database Administrator for DB2 Version 8 certification exam, which immerses experienced DBAs in leading-edge administration topics such as federated data management and clustering and query optimization.
The certification exams are administered at Thompson Prometric and
IBM also is launching an enhanced data management certification program for role-based certification paths to prepare DBAs for jobs such as database administrator, developer, and designer.
DB2 Version 8 certification exams are available now for Linux, Unix, and Windows platforms.
