Accenture sets up shop in India
Center to focus on R&D in systems integration and software engineering
Follow @infoworldAccenture Ltd. has set up a lab in Bangalore, India, that will focus on research and development in systems integration and software engineering, the company announced Monday.
The IT services company already has about 17,500 professionals working in India at its global delivery centers. They serve more than 200 clients worldwide. The new lab will have about 100 staff consisting of top researchers, a company spokesman said Monday, though he did not disclose the time frame for hiring the workers.
Accenture will research emerging technologies and approaches that can improve the software engineering lifecycle and systems integration approach.
The initial areas for research at the lab will include service-oriented and distributed software architectures; collaborative technologies and processes; automated quality management for software development; data quality management and data services; testing theory and practice for software and systems; and large-scale distributed workforce management techniques.
Accenture has similar labs in Palo Alto, California, and Chicago, and Sophia Antipolis, France.
