This week on XBLA: $15 Call of Duty 1 & $3 Sonic 2

Can a game released this decade, for the preceding generation of consoles be considered a "classic?" According to Activision and Microsoft, the answer is "yes" and the evidence is the Xbox Live Arcade game Call of Duty Classic, which is releasing on the service this week, according to Kotaku.

Previously released as a bonus download for customers who purchased the "Prestige" and "Hardened" special edition Modern Warfare 2 bundles, Call of Duty Classic will be made available to the rest of the Xbox Live population this Wednesday. The game will set you back $15.

Meanwhile, for 1/5th the price of Call of Duty Classic, you can pick up this week's Xbox Live Deal of the Week--Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog 2, for $3, according to Major Nelson. According to the handful of reviews that have been posted on Metacritic, it's wasn't botched in translation, so if you've got 300 cents and don't want to put it towards the even more cost-efficient Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, this one is worth parting with a pittance for.
