IBM Corp. picked up new document management technology for its content management portfolio through the acquisition Wednesday of Green Pasture Software Inc., a small software developer based in Corvallis, Oregon. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Green Pasture's products will be immediately available from IBM, a company spokeswoman said. Tailored for the financial, insurance, and automotive industries, Green Pasture's technology integrates with other applications such as Microsoft Word and is designed to handle documents incorporating multiple files, such as spreadsheets and design references.
Nine-year-old Green Pasture is a longtime IBM partner, and its software, used by about 100 customers, already integrates with several of IBM's DB2, Lotus and WebSphere technologies, according to an IBM spokeswoman. Green Pasture's 20 employees are expected to join IBM, she said.
Green Pasture's technology will be part of the data management software portfolio overseen by IBM executive Janet Perna. IBM has been building out its content management offerings surrounding its DB2 database software, adding through recent acquisitions Aptrix Web content management tools and integration software from CrossAccess Corp.
