November 13, 2006-- San Francisco, CA - IDG's InfoWorld, the leading integrated media brand for IT solutions management, announced the winners of its InfoWorld 100 awards. To be considered, projects must stretch beyond the typical, off-the-shelf solution, and must use multiple technologies in innovative ways to serve well-defined business goals. Pre-Registration for InfoWorld's SOA Executive Forum Hits All Time High

Underscores Strong Market Demand for Education on Service-Oriented Architecture

October 31, 2006 -- San Francisco, CA -- IDG's InfoWorld, the leading integrated media brand for IT solutions management, today announced the availability of additional seats for the brand's seventh SOA-focused event, SOA Executive Forum, taking place on November 7 and 8 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City. Based on pre-registration, attendance at next week's event is expected to be the largest of all SOA Executive Forum events to date, representing a who's who of CTOs, VPs, and IT executives driving the future of service-oriented architecture. Additional seats in session rooms allow InfoWorld to meet increasing buyer demand for the event among IT solutions management. Cost to attend InfoWorld's SOA Executive Forum is $1,195, with InfoWorld subscriber and early registration discounts available. Register now at: http://SOAExecutiveForum.com.

Since SOA Executive Forum launched in May 2005, an increasing number of SOA adopters have already begun reaping the benefits of shorter app dev cycles, enabling them to realize much of the agility promised by SOA sooner than anticipated. Rapid time-to-market for new services has surprised even ardent SOA supporters. Those case studies, emphasizing the importance of governance and ROI, provide the underlying theme for November's event.

IT solutions management attending the event will gain expertise in how to increase their organizational agility through SOA. Areas covered include:

Governance: Exploring the challenges for governing an SOA from development time to runtime, including policies, standards, guidelines, and boundaries.

ROI: Leveraging the value of existing systems, the functionality of which can be integrated into new applications with minimal investment.

Planning: Fundamentals of building an SOA strategy, beginning with the examination of current business processes.

Vision: Understanding the benefits of code reusability, rapid integration, and real-time access to data and functionality throughout the enterprise.

Implementation: Choosing the right tools for planning, building, and managing an SOA.

Compatibility: Establishing guidelines to ensure true interoperability across enterprise platforms and systems.

Tactics: Identifying the key areas in an organization to target first for near-term ROI and how to scale for future projects.

Security: Practical measures to ensure a secure SOA environment.

"Interest and overall experience with SOA continues to grow," said Steve Fox, InfoWorld's editor-in-chief. "SOA Executive Forum addresses the opportunities, challenges, and best practices for implementing SOA for business advantage."

About SOA Executive Forum
InfoWorld's
SOA Executive Forum events provide an arena for peers and industry experts to come together and develop informed strategies that ensure successful SOA implementations. The SOA model represents the biggest change in enterprise IT since the Internet. A winning SOA strategy, resulting in cost savings and a highly flexible application infrastructure, hinges on reliable information from leading technologists and early adopters who have already begun to reap the benefits. When applications are treated as services, a transformation in technical approach, IT workflow, and business planning is required. Cost to attend InfoWorld's SOA Executive Forum is $1,195, with InfoWorld subscriber and other discounts available. Visit www.soaexecutiveforum.com for more information.
