Dell refutes rumors on end of its XPS brand

Dell's premier and successful XPS brand is not going to be pulled out, according to the company, contrary to media reports regarding the same. The report stated that Dell was going to end its XPS line up to make way for its other brand, the performance oriented Alienware. However Dell clarified in very certain terms that it had no such intentions but went on to elaborate that the Alienware brand would indeed be pushed more aggressively.

In a blog post on the Dell's website, the PR Manager for the XPS series, Anne Camden said " Dell XPS and Alienware are both great brands -- arguably the greatest brands in PC gaming -- and both will live on. But we are going to expand our focus on Alienware. We are going to invest like crazy in product development, design and engineering to propel Alienware as the premier gaming brand in the future."

"And XPS gaming systems will remain an important part of our gaming product portfolio."
