Activision on Thursday confirmed the release of Call of Duty 5 on all major systems excluding the PSP, namely Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii, PS2, and DS. Activision on Thursday confirmed the release of Call of Duty 5 on all major systems excluding the PSP, namely Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii, PS2, and DS. "We'll bring the intensity of the recent Call of Duty: Modern Warfare title to a new military theater," said Activision CEO Mike Griffith during the call.

The fifth installment of the game is being developed by Treyarch (as opposed to Infinity Ward, who released the best-selling Call of Duty 4 last year) launches this November and will reportedly take place in World War II... again. Treyarch previously developed Call of Duty III, and Infinity Ward will allegedly develop number six, given the franchise's staying power.

Moving on to Grand Theft Auto IV, a member of the GTA Forums claims to have spotted the shown artwork while visiting Rockstar's online community, Social Club. The reputed creative is a plane ticket for Niko Bellic, the star protagonist from GTA IV, with service from Liberty City to San Andreas, leading to speculation that San Andreas will somehow be involved in the planned downloadable content for GTA IV.

Rhythm game fans might be happy to know that Activision plans to announce new features expected for Guitar Hero IV within two weeks time. According to the company, there will be "a significant leap forward in innovation for Guitar Hero worldwide, on all platforms," upon release this fall. Rock Band Hero?

Lastly, Sony has released encouraging new trailers for Killzone 2, Little Big Planet, and Motorstorm: Pacific Rift. PS3 fans, rejoice.
