Defining the SOA Platform
Enterprise service bus, fabric, grid, and Internet operating system are some of the terms often used to describe this emerging platform. What are its key ingredients, and how do they work together?

  • Moderated by: Jon Udell, Editor and Lead Analyst, InfoWorld
  • Panelists: Graham Glass, CTO, webMethods (May 5 only); Frank Martinez, Chairman, Co-Founder and CTO, Blue Titan Software; Eric Newcomer, CTO, Iona Technologies; Gordon Van Huizen, CTO, Sonic Software; Annrai O'Toole, CEO, Cape Clear Software; Guljit Khurana, VP of Product Technology, webMethods Inc. (May 17 Only)

Defining Business Agility
An agile business can monitor itself in realtime, integrate acquisitions quickly, respond effectively to new compliance regulations, and federate easily with partner services. How and why does SOA enable all these forms of agility?

  • Moderated by: Dave Margulius, Senior Contributing Editor, InfoWorld (May 5 only); and Steve Fox, Editor in Chief, InfoWorld (May 17 only)
  • Panelists: Kerrie Holley, CTO, IBM SOA & Web Services Center of Excellence, IBM Distinguished Engineeer, IBM Global Services, IBM (May 5 Only); Michael Liebow, Vice President, SOA & Web Services, IBM Global Services, IBM (May 17 Only); Jonathan W. Hill, Associate Partner, Technology and Systems Integration, Accenture (May 5 only); David L. Nichols, Partner, Technology and Systems Integration, Accenture (May 17 only); Parag Doshi, Pratice Principal for Enterprise Integration, HP; Sean Rhody, Chief Architect, BEA Practice, Computer Sciences Corporation

Pervasive SOA
What new opportunities arise in a world where every purchase order, stock item, and item of luggage publishes events to the network? And how do we manage this flood of events?

  • Moderated by: Rohit Khare, Research Director, CommerceNet Labs
  • Panelists: John Shewchuk, "Indigo" Project Architect, Microsoft (May 5 only); Dino Chiesa, Product Manager, .NET Developer Platform, Microsoft (May 17 only); John Schneider, CTO, AgileDelta; Joe Keller, Vice President, Developer and Application Platforms Marketing, Sun Microsystems; Aiaz Kazi, General Manager of Business Integration, TIBCO Software

Services and Contracts
In a technical sense, contracts define interfaces and messages. But in a business sense, contracts govern legal relationships. How can SOA help us deal with these two kinds of contracts in a unified way?

  • Moderated by: Phillip J. Windley, Associate Professor of Computer Science, Brigham Young University
  • Panelists: David Linthicum, CTO, Grand Central Communications; Rick Caccia, Senior Director of Product Management, Oracle; Jim Bole, Vice President Products, Infravio; Roman Stanek, Founder and CSO, Systinet

Opportunities and Challenges for the Agile Enterprise
SOA represents our best effort so far to align IT infrastructure with business reality. How does SOA enable the agile enterprise? What key challenges still thwart us, and how will we resolve them?

  • Moderated by: Jon Udell, Editor and Lead Analyst, InfoWorld
  • Panelists: Bruce Graham, Vice President, World Wide Professional Services, BEA; Rohit Khare, Research Director, CommerceNet Labs

Building Applications on a SOA Platform
In a SOA ecosystem we "compose" applications. How will new tools, frameworks, and techniques support this compositional style?

  • Moderated by: Jon Udell, Editor and Lead Analyst, InfoWorld
  • Panelists: Tim Ewald, SOA Best Practices, Mindreef; Edwin Khodabakchian, Vice President Product Development, Oracle; John Shewchuk, "Indigo" Project Architect, Microsoft (May 5 Only); Dino Chiesa, Product Manager, .Net Developer Platform, Microsoft (May 17 Only); Annrai O'Toole, CEO, Cape Clear Software
