At the risk of stating the obvious, virtualization is the future of IT. Interestingly, It’s also the history of IT as well, when you think of mainframes, OS/400, and so forth. Everything old is new again. But the world of contemporary virtualization has not jelled yet. Multiple vendors offer various products, each with their pros and cons and price tags – all the way from completely free to tens of thousands of dollars in licensing costs.
