If HP's board fires Léo Apotheker as rumored, one of the following candidates may turn out to be the new CEO
Charles Montgomery ("Mr.") Burns
Say what you want about his ethics, this guy gets things done.
Pros: He's kept the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant profitable for decades despite gross worker incompetence, a bank repossession, and an ill-conceived sale to German investors. He values business success more than anything, including family, friendship, and religion. He's skilled at the media game, once spinning a nuclear meltdown as an "unrequested fission surplus."
Cons: His advanced age has rendered him not dependably lucid, and he was diagnosed by the Mayo Clinic with Three Stooges Syndrome, meaning he has every ailment known to man, including juvenile diabetes and hysterical pregnancy. He has a decidedly laissez-faire attitude toward business regulations and is known to have dabbled in bioterrorism. He's a member of The League of Evil. The commute from Springield would reduce his impact in Palo Alto. He's not a real person.
