The LifeBook N5000, which began shipping Dec. 24, will have a slightly faster processor and a larger, higher-performing screen than its sister computer, the N3000. It will also cost more. Its $1,799 starting price tag is $300 more than the N3000, Fujitsu said.
The 4.7-kilogram (10.3-pound) notebook comes with a 16-inch SXGA+ (super extended graphics array) display and ATI Technology Inc.'s Mobility Radeon 9600 graphics processor with 64M bytes of video memory.
It has a maximum of 2G bytes of memory and 80G bytes of hard drive storage, and ships with either a 3.0GHz or 2.8GHz Pentium 4 processor and the Windows XP operating system.
