Best Big Screen All-in-One PCs
Our top-rated all-in-ones from Apple, Gateway, Lenovo, and Sony offer sizzling performance, 20-inch or larger displays, and extras such as touch-screens, Blu-ray drives, and HDTVs
All-in-one PCs cost a little more than your traditional desktop or minitower system, but they take up less room and leave fewer cables and power cords strewn about. And though they typically aren't as expandable as traditional PCs, they can be loaded with features. Many have built-in Blu-ray drives and double as Media Center HDTVs. Some also provide multitouch displays, which let you use two fingers to pinch, push, rotate, and scroll items on screen.
We tested five stylish big-screen all-in-one PCs, and we liked them all. The two Apple iMacs ($2000 for Core i5 and $2200 for Core i7) were the fastest all-in-ones we've ever tested, and both models sport big and beautiful 27-inch screens. The Gateway One ZX6810-01 ($1400) is also a hot performer, and boasts a multi-touch display and HDTV tuner. The Lenovo IdeaCentre A600 ($1149) lacks touch-screen functionality, but sports a lush 21.5-inch display, Blu-ray, HDTV tuner, and superior upgradability at a nice price. The Sony Vaio L117FX/B is our top scorer, combining strong performance, Blu-ray, HDTV tuner, scads of ports, and a beautiful 24-inch multi-touch display.
