Xerox eyes the enterprise with software
Upgraded document management product includes workflow engine, developer environment
NEW YORK -- Xerox used the PCExpo show here to pry the lid off a new version of its document management software that the company hopes will help it better compete at the enterprise level.
New to DocuShare 3.1 are a workflow engine, a Web collaboration add-on, and a developer environment targeted primarily at VARs and systems integrators.
The DocuShare Enterprise Workflow Suite extends the software's approval and routing to streamline document-centric business processes, according to the company. DocuShare Interact enables users to create and use collaborative Web pages.
The DocuShare Developer Environment comprises tools and APIs for integration with third-party applications.
InfoWorld Editor at Large Tom Sullivan covers a variety of topics for news and features, as well as produces the InfoWorld Daily podcast.
