Computer Associates on Monday announced it has joined the Eclipse Foundation for open source developer tools.
The company will contribute code to the Eclipse Test and Performance Tools Platform Top-Level Project (TPTP) and has been appointed to the TPTP Project Management Committee as the Monitoring Tools Project Lead.
The TPTP Project extends Eclipse technologies to provide a development platform for supplying frameworks and services for software test and performance tools, according to CA. These tools are intended to be used throughout the life cycle to support computers ranging from standalone units to distributed and embedded systems, according to CA.
CA has been working with the TPTP Project group at Eclipse to integrate CA’s AllFusion Harvest Change Manager with the Eclipse 3.0 platform. Harvest Change Manager provides software life cycle management functions.
Eclipse was formed by IBM, but has since become an organization separate from the company.
