Enterprises are focused on perceptions within the cloud computing world, when the realities might be go against groupthink. Also, there is a lack of understanding about the work required to move code and data to a private cloud or how to take full advantage of the native features such as autoscaling --I'm only scratching the surface.
I shouldn't be surprised. In this industry, we tend to figure out the purpose and roles of new technology through trial and error. Hopefully, the errors will be found quickly, and we'll become wise to both public and private clouds, including their proper use.
