"They have some of this composite application work done and it looks good. But there is a tremendous amount of work yet to be done," said Greenbaum.
Also missing from the evenings presentations was any mention of the Siebel acquisition and a timeframe for the incorporation of Siebel applications.
The Oracle application road map includes a major release of J.D. Edwards World suite in 2007.
All work on the Fusion suite will be complete by 2008, at which time J.D. Edwards and PeopleSoft customers will be able to upgrade to Fusion.
However, Oracle executives did add a cautionary note, explaining that as companies upgrade to Fusion, IT should look closely at customization work they might have done on their older applications.
To that end, Oracle will include a tool to inventory and track customizations before an upgrade is undertaken.
"Look hard to extensions and customizations," Wookey said. "Those features may be in the standard functionality built into the [Fusion] product."
