The services will be targeted at companies running Windows NT and Windows 2000 Server operating systems and will focus on providing reliable access to data, applications, hardware, networks, and storage, according to a statement from the companies.

Microsoft and Comdisco will "run the customer's environment" through one of Comdisco's labs to assess and address the level of availability of the customer's network, according to Joseph Lindstrom, director of business development in the product support unit at Microsoft.

Customers can also sign on for service-level agreements that guarantee a certain level of availability for the network, Lindstrom said. The services will be available beginning Saturday, he said.
