The Death of Medibuntu
Lxer is reporting that Medibuntu has died.
The Medibuntu repository has been unmaintained for several months, and has become more and more useless over the years. The project is now considered abandoned, and we recommend to disable the repository if you are using it.More at Lxer
Medibuntu was an Ubuntu repository that focused on "multimedia, entertainment and distractions." It appears that this is the end for Medibuntu.
So what does it mean for Ubuntu? Not much. Ubuntu already offers enough of what Medibuntu did, so the need for it really doesn't exist any more. It's just a natural progression and reflection of Ubuntu's growth.
If you want more information about Medibuntu's death, see the announcement.
