Hide files from Spotlight Search on your Mac

Stop Spotlight from indexing certain files

Here's a very quick way to stop Spotlight from indexing certain files on your Mac.

1. Find the file you want to hide.

2. Change the name of the file to include .noindex.

For example, if your file was named "sugar" then you'd want to rename it to be "sugar.noindex."
