Here's how you can see your Mac's hardware and software configuration.
1. Click the Apple icon in the menu bar.
2. Click About This Mac.
3. You'll see the operating system, processor and memory used by your Mac.
4. Click the More Info button to see more detailed information.
The More Info screen breaks your Mac's specs into four tabs:
Click each tab to see to get more information about your Mac.
You can see your Mac's serial number, processor, memory, graphics and software info. The Overview tab also has buttons for Software Update and System Report.
Displays will show the size of your monitor and the resolution it's running, as well as the specs of your video card.
The Storage tab is very useful since you can see what kinds of files are taking up space on your hard disk, and you can click the Disk Utility button if you need to make changes.
The Memory tab shows how much memory is installed, as well as the number of memory slots currently being used.
