Use spacers to group similar apps in the Dock

Here's how you can quickly add spacers to your Mac's Dock. Spacers will let you group similar apps on the Dock in an easy to see way.

1. Open a terminal window.

2. Type in the following command then hit Enter.

defaults write persistent-apps -array-add '{tile-data={}; tile-type="spacer-tile";}'

3. Type in the following command then hit Enter.

killall Dock
