Here's how you can install Wine 1.6 in Ubuntu 13.04.
1. Open a terminal window.
2. Type in the following commands then hit Enter after each.
To install it by PPA, use these commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install wine1.6 winetricks
To install it from sources, use these commands:
sudo apt-get install flex bison qt3-dev-tools qt4-qmake
wget -c http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wine/wine-1.6.tar.bz2
tar -xjvf wine-1.6.tar.bz2
If you want to see a list of new features and changes in Wine 1.6, be sure to check out the official release announcement on the Wine HQ site. There are more than 10,000 changes so there's quite a bit in this release.
