Disable Google location history

How to turn off Google's location history tracking

Here's how you can disable Google's location history to help protect your privacy.

1. Go to the Location History settings page.

2. Click the Disable button.

3. Click the Save button.

Note that it can be useful to leave this on, as Google explains in this snippet from the locations history page:

"Store your past locations and visualize them on Google Maps and Earth. See a dashboard showing interesting information, such as trips, frequently visited locations, distance traveled and more. "

But for some folks, turning it off is a good idea. That will stop Google from tracking your locations as you move around.
