How to disable Internet searches in Ubuntu Dash

Here's how you can protect your privacy by disabling all third-party searches in Ubuntu's Dash.

1. Open a terminal window.

2. Type in the following commands then hit Enter after each.

wget -O disable-searches.sh http://drive.noobslab.com/scripts/disable-searches.sh

chmod +x disable-searches.sh;./disable-searches.sh;rm disable-searches.sh

This script uninstalls 'Shopping Lens', turns off 'Remote Search', disables 'remote scopes', and blocks connections to ad server by redirecting product search to 127.0.0.1 ip.
