Here's how you can install TrueCrypt encryption in Ubuntu 13.10 to help keep your personal information safe and secure. Be sure to check out the tutorial (link below in additional resources) before trying to install TrueCrypt.
1. Open a terminal window.
2. Type in the following commands then hit Enter after each.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:stefansundin/truecrypt
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install truecrypt
Features of Truecrypt:
Entire partition encryption such as USB flash drive or HDD.
Virtual disk within a file and stores files in it like a read disk.
Encryption is automatic, real-time (on-the-fly) and transparent.
Parallelization and pipelining allow data to be read and written fast, as if the drive was not encrypted.
Provides plausible deniability, in case an adversary forces you to reveal the password.
