Pale Moon is an open source browser based on Firefox. It does not, however, include the much disliked Australis interface. Here's how you can install it in Ubuntu 14.04 and then import your Firefox profile into Pale Moon.

1. Open a terminal window.

2. Type in the following commands then hit Enter after each:

wget sourceforge.net/projects/pm4linux/files/24.6.2/palemoon-24.6.2.en-US.linux-i686.tar.bz2

tar -xjvf palemoon-24.6.2.en-US.linux-i686.tar.bz2

sudo rm -rf /opt/palemoon*

sudo mv palemoon /opt/palemoon24.6.2

sudo ln -sf /opt/palemoon24.5.0/palemoon /usr/bin/palemoon

3. To start Pale Moon, type in this command:

palemoon

4. To import your Firefox profile, use this command:

cp -R ~/.mozilla/firefox/* ~/.moonchild\ productions/pale\ moon/
