RSA Security Expands SSO
RSA security next month will release RSA sign-on Manager 4.5, a new version of its enterprise SSO (single sign-on) software that features expanded integration with RSA’s two-factor authentication tool, RSA SecurID. This feature allows SSO access to enterprise apps and network resources protected by the RSA SecurID technology. Other features in RSA Sign-On Manager 4.5 include self-service emergency access for users who forget passwords or other authentication methods, and an integrated desktop client that combines SSO, emergency access, and strong authentication for Windows desktops and networks.

FileNet Adds BAM to Lineup
Enterprise content management vendor FileNet in December will begin shipping FileNet BAM (business activity monitoring), which is designed to give users real-time event management capabilities and visibility into business performance data. The new product is based on FileNet’s P8 architecture and works in conjunction with FileNet’s Business Process Manager product. FileNet BAM includes customizable dashboards for tracking metrics and generating alerts, and an integrated rules engine. The product also lets users analyze data and correlate it with business processes and apps. FileNet BAM pricing starts at $115,000, which includes an application server and a 10-user license.

Quantum Launches Ramped-Up Tape Drive for SMBs
Storage vendor Quantum last week announced a tape drive product, the DLT-V4 drive, which offers backup, recovery, and archiving for small and midsize businesses. The DLT-V4 drive includes a SATA interface, and management capabilities with DLTSage for predictive and diagnostic functionality as well as DLTIce for meeting regulatory compliance requirements. The drive delivers 320GB of compressed capacity and a 72GB per hour transfer rate. Cost for the drive is $999.

SOAPbox Preaches Web Services Testing
Web services security company Vordel has updated SOAPbox, its security testing tool for Web services. SOAPbox provides a graphical environment designed to simplify the creation of XML security test cases. New features in Vordel SOAPbox 3.1 include sample SOAP messages that are preconfigured to connect to public Web services, XML encryption and decryption capabilities, and the ability to test SOAP attachments across both Java and .Net Web services. SOAPbox is available for Windows, Linux, and Solaris.
