To enhance print capabilities across its applications, SAP will use central print management technology from Hewlett-Packard, the German business software vendor announced Monday.
By adding HP's print and output management technology to its NetWeaver integration platform, SAP aims to help customers define, manage and track document delivery for business-critical processes from a single source, the company said ahead of its Sapphire customer event, which opens in Orlando, Florida, on Tuesday.
The unified interface is designed to help businesses improve the reliability of print output, optimize printer use and increase control over enterprise-wide printing. In addition to increasing the reliability of printing in document-dependent business processes, users can reduce their administration costs, SAP said.
The new capabilities will be available in June to customers running mySAP Business Suite applications, together with NetWeaver middleware.
The companies also plan to jointly develop NetWeaver output management Web services interfaces to help streamline print and output management across SAP systems.
