Among other things taking enormous amounts of my time recently, I've updated my ClamAV stats gathering script. Also, since my blog moved to InfoWorld, Google's references to the script at the old site have fallen away, so I figure it's about time. This script requires that LogTime be uncommented in clamd.conf. Invoking with --html will create a Web version.
Given the recent movement in the anti-spam and email virus wars, I've been busy building and rebuilding various mail relay systems. SpamAssassin 3.0 is quite an improvement over the 2.xx series, including SQL-based Bayes databases. Also much improved is ClamAV. With version 0.80 comes phishing scam filtering. Functionally identical to virus scanning, ClamAV will block known phishing scams based on signatures. Now that's handy.
