Retailers are tripping over each other once again to get you tripping over each other at their stores and on their websites for Black Friday and pre-Black Friday deals on all sorts of electronics, from the latest tablets to smartphones to computers and TVs. Here’s a sampling from a variety of big retailers. Be warned that many of the in-store offers involve a limited number of items at each store and some of these deals are only available in physical stores. And if you don’t get what you want, there’s always Cyber Monday.

Target will sell the Barnes & Noble e-reader, with 6-inch screen, for $50 off the usual price. Target will beat the Black Friday rush by opening its stores at 9pm on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day.

Staples has given a sneak peak at its Black Friday deals, including this bargain to lure buyers into giving Windows 8 a whirl. The device with a 14-inch screen and 1.5GHz Pentium processor, normally priced at $529, will be slashed to $299 via $180 in instant savings plus another $50 off via rebate. There will only be four of them per store.

Apple doesn’t let retailers cut the price of its products, so the retailers like Target get around that by bundling Apple goods with gift cards and other incentives. This deal goes for any iPad Target sells including the new “iPad 4,” the one that’s claimed to be twice as fast as the iPad 3 because it has a new processor.

This in-store-only deal from Wal-mart gets you a biggish TV with full Web browser and Wi-Fi support built in. Depending upon where you live, you might find Wal-marts open as early as 8pm on Thanksgiving night in your area, much to the chagrin of some employees.
