Steve Jobs second most influential in IT

Bill Gates tops industry group's list of most influential IT personalities of the last 25 years, followed by Apple and Dell CEOs

Apple CEO Steve Jobs has been named as the second most influential IT personality of the last 25 years.

The Computing Technology Industry Association conducted a survey among 473 industry professionals asking them who was the most influential tech guru.

Jobs was chosen by 73 percent of the sample group, while 84 percent selected Microsoft chairman, Bill Gates. Dell CEO Michael Dell took third place with a 53 percent vote.

Fourth place (with 47 percent) was shared by Linux founder, Linus Torvalds and Google cofounders Sergey Brin and Larry Page.
