Buffalo Technology unveils mobile storage device
Buffalo Technology expanded its storage line with a USB 2.0 External Portable Hard Drive with Bus Power Booster, available
in capacities of 40GB and 80GB. The compact storage device allows mobile PC and Mac users to store data while traveling. The
product supports USB 2.0 and 1.1 and offers a 5,400 rpm High Speed Drive. The Bus Power Booster feature provides power delivery
to the drive on older laptops that lack reliable power via USB. Pricing is $149 for the 40GB and $199 for the 80GB versions.

Apache offers XMLBeans 2.0
The Apache Software Foundation, a community of developers and users that provides support for Apache open source projects,
has rolled out XMLBeans 2.0. XMLBeans uses XML Schema to generate Java interfaces and classes that can then be used to access
and modify XML instance data. Version 2.0 of the tool offers improved XQuery/XPath integration; DOM Level II support, which
improves performance and reduces the memory footprint; extensions for adding custom functionality to generated XMLBeans; and
improved error handling.

Cast Iron Systems uncorks integration appliances
Cast Iron Systems has released two new data-integration appliances designed to provide an alternative to EAI software. The
Application Router 3000 includes design tools that map connections among applications. The router handles protocol and data-format
conversion using XML and C++ to optimize performance and workflow. The Application Router 3000 High-Availability version is
two routers combined into a single unit that provides fail-over protection. The Application Router 3000 starts at $100,000;
the High-Availability version is $175,000.

LiteScape unites desktops and IP devices
