X1 unveils enterprise desktop search
X1 technologies has introduced an enterprise version of its desktop search software called X1 Enterprise Edition. The server-side software offering is designed to let business users access data on their PCs and within enterprise data repositories. X1 Enterprise Edition combines the X1 Desktop Search interface with integrated network Content Connectors that let users access and interact with data in shared file folders, e-mail messages and attachments, and contacts from e-mail systems. The search tool includes deployment and administration tools, and works with existing IT and security policies. In coming months, X1 plans to add Content Connectors for more applications including SharePoint and Interwoven. X1 Enterprise Edition pricing starts at $7,500 per year.
