IronPort Systems (Profile, Products, Articles) announced the IronPort X1000e-mail security appliance, which provides an outer layer of defense against e-mail threats. The IronPort X1000 integrates Domain Keys to fight e-mail fraud and secure business' identity on the Internet. The appliance uses IronPort's AsyncOS to ensure enterprise e-mail systems are not overwhelmed during virus or spam attacks. IronPort offers e-mail administrators centralized reporting and management tools that enable them to control a global deployment, as well as the Mail Flow Monitor and Email Security Manager to help make complex administration tasks easier.

Composite Software unlocks data from SAP (Profile, Products, Articles), Siebel

Composite Software has released Composite Application Views, which for the first time enables users to query live SAP and Siebel data from any reporting tool, such as Microsoft (Profile, Products, Articles) Excel. Composite Application Views offers hundreds of pre-built views of business information such as customers, products, orders, and employees. The views help companies leverage existing packaged applications for new BI and SOA efforts. The product works with Composite Information Server (CIS) to provide data in the form of relational tables that can be queried, filtered, and combined with other sources from across the organization. Composite Application Views uses the security rules and business logic of each source application, thereby preserving data integrity. Composite Application Views are available immediately. Views for SAP and for Siebel are sold separately. PeopleSoft (Profile, Products, Articles) support is scheduled for the fourth quarter. Composite Application Views require CIS 3.1 or higher. Stylus Studio offers tool for XML data integration projects

Raritan acquires IT management appliance provider

Raritan announced it has acquired Oculan Systems, a provider of all-in-one appliances that guard servers, networks, and desktops against network outages and degradation, performance slowdowns, security weaknesses, and incoming attacks. Oculan's products will become part of Raritan's line of products for simplifying and accelerating IT equipment management and maintenance. The Oculan product line, which will carry the Raritan CommandCenter brand, will continue to be sold through Oculan's existing channels. In addition, Oculan technology will be integrated into Raritan's products. 

CA's eTrust IAM Toolkit secures applications

Computer Associates (Profile, Products, Articles) International has announced its eTrust Identity and Access Management (IAM) Toolkit, which enables developers to build more manageable identity-based security into their business applications. eTrust IAM Toolkit ensures standardized security procedures and centralized policy management, eliminating the problems associated with managing multiple application-level security "silos," such as security management, compliance processes, and auditing tasks. The toolkit can be used with a range of third-party provisioning and identity management tools, as well as with CA's own eTrust Access Control, eTrust SiteMinder, eTrust Admin, and eTrust Security Command Center. Parasoft (Profile, Products, Articles) SOAPtest 4.0 offers security penetration testing

Parasoft has released Version 4.0 of its SOAPtest tool, which now integrates security penetration testing into the Web services testing suite. SOAPtest 4.0 embeds attack scenarios into automated and repeatable functional testing at the message level to detect Web services security vulnerabilities. The update features support for UDDI Registry, WS-Addressing, and WS-ReliableMessaging. SOAPtest 4.0 is available for Windows 2000, Windows XP, Linux, and Solaris priced starting at $3,495.

Radware expands DefensePro's intrusion prevention

Radware has added DefensePro 2.4 to its line of intelligent application switching solutions. Radware has integrated its SSL sniffing capabilities into DefensePro, which scans encrypted traffic and protects against SSL-based DoS/DDoS attacks. DefensePro 2.4 can handle up to 15,000 SSL transactions per second. It also offers enhanced dynamic bandwidth management features to block threats and ensure continuity and performance of all secure traffic. DefensePro 2.4 is available immediately priced starting at $25,000.
