HP updates ProCurve lineup, Media Publisher unveils video platform, Netezza bolsters storage capacity, Accellion expands file transfer appliances

HP updates ProCurve lineup
Hewlett-Packard’s ProCurve networking added a new routing switch and network management software to its networking line. The ProCurve Routing Switch 9400sl is a core routing switch with support for high-density and wire-speed 10 Gig for as many as 32 ports. The new ProCurve Manager 2.0 software centrally manages device health and controls ProCurve configurations for edge devices. ProCurve Manager Plus 2.0 also offers improved security and group configuration, basic discovery, and topology mapping. The ProCurve Routing Switch 9400sl will be available in August starting at $310,000. ProCurve Manager 2.0 and ProCurve Manager Plus 2.0 will be available this summer. ProCurve Manager 2.0 is free with purchase, while ProCurve Manager Plus 2.0 has a starting price of $3,100.

Media Publisher unveils video platform
Media Publisher last month rolled out Version 4.0 of its software platform for supporting enterprise-class video across IP networks. Media Publisher 4.0 includes three communications applications for broadcasting video to thousands of viewers at the desktop, a viewer portal for user access and navigation, a content management and publishing engine for managing video and automating event publishing, and an integration layer for connecting broadcasting applications with network infrastructure.

Netezza bolsters storage appliance capacity
Netezza has quadrupled the storage capacity of its Netezza Performance Server data warehouse appliances, which can now scale to 100TB. NPS appliances store, filter, and process terabytes of records within a single unit and analyze information for queries. Accompanying NPS 10400 and 10800, Netezza also shipped Version 3.0 of its software, featuring enhanced workload management and improved data speeds.

Accellion expands file transfer appliances
Accellion has rolled out new versions of its file transfer products that provide alternatives to file transfer modes such as FTP and e-mail. The Accellion Courier Standard File Transfer Appliance, for single site and medium volume users, offers a Web-based UI, integration with LDAP, and file transport security. Accellion Courier Enterprise File Transfer Appliance, for multisite and high-volume users, adds integration with Microsoft Outlook and IBM Lotus e-mail clients, clustering, and intelligent replication.
