Bowstreet Launches Portal-Based Dashboards
Bowstreet on Monday will introduce two portal-based dashboard offerings for its Corporate Performance Suite, which aggregates data from multiple back-end systems into a consolidated view. The Sales and Executive Dashboards provide data filters, alters, data exporting, and browser-based configuration wizards that let users customize data display. The dashboards offer visibility into business metrics and performance indicators, and can be tailored to an individual’s job function. Built-in collaboration tools such as IM and e-mail let users react quickly to business events. The dashboards are JSR168-compatible and integrate with IBM WebSphere Portal.

IBM Extends Identity Manager
IBM last week rolled out an upgrade to its Tivoli Federated Identity Manager. The product helps simplify user registration and sign-on for both internal and external services, and is capable of linking employees and customers to third-party organizations without needing to create another ID and password or to re-authenticate. Other new features include the ability to integrate scattered business silos that lack a common security infrastructure, improved compliance and corporate governance, and an enhanced consolidation of customer care systems, which allow for a holistic view of users’ customers across business silos.

MCI Ups Ethernet Services
MCI has unveiled a new suite of next-generation global Ethernet solutions. The new Ethernet portfolio will include GDLE (Global Data Link Ethernet) services, which allow customers, WANs, and LANs to connect with each other. MCI will also add Ethernet as an access option to the company’s MPLS (multiprotocol label switching)-base VPN and Private IP. Customers will have a choice of Ethernet access for converged applications such as VoIP.

SystinetBoosts Web Services Tool
Systinet last week added governance features to its free Web services tool Systinet Developer. The new governance capabilities in Systinet Developer 5.5, an Eclipse plug-in, support the WS-I (Web Services Interoperability Organization) Basic Profile. Developer enables building, testing, and publishing of Java-based Web services from within Eclipse. Version 5.5 also supports both the WS-RM (Web Services Reliable Messaging) specification and Version 3 of UDDI, the Web services directory standard.
