A new e-mail worm has appeared on the Internet and is spreading rapidly, according to leading antivirus companies.
The worm, W32/Mydoom, surfaced late-Monday and is currently being analyzed by antivirus companies and little information on
it was available late Monday.
Computer Associates International's research labs received 11 copies of the worm almost simultaneously on Monday, indicating
a rapidly spreading infection, according to a company spokesman.
Network Associates's McAfee AVERT antivirus lab was also analyzing copies of the virus. Mydoom appeared to be a "high risk"
virus, according to a spokeswoman.
However, McAfee researchers were still studying Mydoom and could not provide more information, she said.
