I installed each product on Windows Server 2000 or 2003, along with the required additional software. ADS required installation
on a Windows Server 2003, which was provided by Microsoft. I installed SPS on Windows Server 2000 running Microsoft SQL Server
2000 and IIS. For the ZENworks 6 installation, I installed eDirectory 8.6.2 on Windows Server 2000, along with Apache 2.0.4,
Tomcat 4.1.12 and Sun JVM 1.3.1, and ConsoleOne 1.3.5.
I tested the ability of each server to capture and deploy images. In the case of ADS, I captured and deployed Windows Server
2003 and a Windows 2000 Advanced Server image. For SPS and ZENworks, I captured and deployed both Windows Server 2000 and
a Red Hat Linux 7.2 image.
Since the additional management features of SPS and ZENworks were outside of the purview of this review, I looked through
them only briefly. However, the features available on both platforms were impressive and easy to use during my limited tests.
