The two companies have agreed to a business partnership that will provide Lufthansa Systems with technical support from SuSE software engineers in areas such as new installations, problem solving and special projects, SuSE said Thursday in a statement.

Lufthansa Systems said in the statement that numerous customers in the airline industry have expressed interest in deploying open source Linux software.

Lufthansa Systems offers IT services to airlines and other companies in the aviation sector, including the construction, operation, and maintenance of computer networks. The systems integrator is located in Kelsterbach, Germany.
