Data Junction on Monday is announcing availability of Integration Architect and enhanced Integration Engines, with the goal
of offering a single data integration platform for projects of all sizes.
The company's product lineup will enable both Fortune 100-size and small- and medium-size businesses to integrate information
between multiple applications, according to Data Junction. Integration Architect also leverages Web services, enabling, for
example, access to an application exposed via a Web services interface, said Michael Hoskins, president of Data Junction,

Integration Architect provides for real-time data integration and introduces integration broker technology that expands on
the company's ETL (Extraction,
Translation, and Loading) offerings, Data Junction said.
The product features an integrated development environment including: Explorer, for viewing integration processes; Integration
Process Designer, for building event-driven message flows; Integration Map Designer, featuring a new interface and providing
for data map and transformation designs; Adaptor Schema Designer, an interface for designing record layouts of source and
target data; and Document Schema Designer, a Java-based tool for developing structures from schema standards such as EDI (Electronic
Data Interchange) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). Also available from within Integration
Architect are Extract Schema Designer, formerly known as Content Extractor, for coding of scripts, and GoPeep, a data browser.
The bundling provides for ease of use, Hoskins said. "The truth is, integration is all one problem," he said.
An analyst said Data Junction, with Integration Architect and accompanying application adapters, was shifting from more of
an ETL focus to data integration.
"They're targeting products at integration as a general discipline," said analyst Benoit Lheureux, a research director for Gartner, which is based in
Stamford,
Conn.
Integration Engine, Data Junction's integration process execution engine, is to be available as a 24-by-7 service resident
in memory for event-driven, real-time integration scenarios. It will also be offered as an Integration/Message, as a JCA service
or as an SNMP agent.
With Integration Engine, data can be integrated from structured record sets, such as ASCII and ISAMS, documents with canonical
form, such as EDI and XML, and unstructured data, such as reports and e-mail.
The company's platform also now features an XML-based metadata repository for managing and exchanging data and the corresponding
integration process.
Integration Architect is priced at $2,000 per seat while Integration Engine costs from $10,000 to $100,000.
